Live Chat
Live chat will consists of arranged online meetings that male sufferers and their carers can join to share experiences, discuss issues relating to eating disorders and participate in peer support.
You can join no matter what your age or where you are and we encourage people at all stages of recovery to participate, whether you are seeking help for the first time or are currently undergoing or have even finished treatment. If you have recovered from an eating disorder you are welcome to join as others will benefit from your insight and experience.
The meetings will initially be held every other Wednesday from 7.30-9pm. Scheduled dates are as follows:
- Wednesday 4th April – Special Live Chat session with Lynn Crilly therapist and author of ‘Hope With Eating Disorders’
Each meeting will have a theme as a focus for conversation although anything related to eating disorders can be discussed. As our live chat is a user-led service we would like to hear your ideas for themes for future meetings.
Occasionally we may invite guests to provide some expertise for a particular theme (e.g. for food and mood, we might invite a dietician).
The meetings are facilitated by male volunteers who have suffered from eating disorders and recovered.
Please note: To participate in live chat you will need to register on the MGEDT website and be logged in during the live chat time. To register please click here
Live chat can only be accessed on these dates at the opening times. The live chat will be in the community section of the site under ‘Live chat feed.’
