We are pleased to announce that our second national conference will take place on Friday 17th November in Brighton. *
On the basis of last year’s conference feedback and the areas of most interest, we can confirm the theme next year will be ‘Exploring Body Dissatisfaction in Men and Improving their Self-Esteem.’
In 2015 we held the first ever national conference dedicated to the subject of men with eating disorders. It was attended by other 70 delegates from across the UK. Next year we hope to build on the success of the previous with an aim to share the learning a greater scale.
Presently we are on the look out for speakers in the following areas: self-esteem, body dysmorphia, muscle dysmorphia (a.k.a.’Bigorexia’), misuse and overuse of steroids and fat burners and any associated subjects within the theme of the conference. We’d be keen to hear from any researchers, practioniers, or those with lived experience of any the subjects described.
For anyone who may be interested in speaking and/or to register your interest in attending please contact us.
* Please note that the MGEDT conference will no longer be taking place on the 23rd June as originally advertised. Our new date will be announced soon and for updates please check the website again soon.
