We are pleased to announce our second national second will be taking place on 17th November at the Brighthelm Centre in our home city of Brighton.

The theme of the conference is ‘Exploring Body Dissatisfaction in Men and Improving Their Self-esteem.’

Initial speakers include Natasha Devon MBE (C0-Founder of the Self-Esteem Team) as keynote, Dr Rob Wilson (Therapist & Chair of the Body Dysmorphia  Foundation),  Danny Bowman (Mental Health Campaigner for Parliament Street & Founder of Bowman Foundation), Jenny Langley (Author of Boys Get Anorexia Too & Trainer for the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust), Maggie Morgan and Chris Podszus (Director of Communications & Stakeholder Engagement & Policy, Public Affairs and Research Officer at Fixers on Wellcome Trust funded ‘Feel Happy Fix’).

Other presenters and workshops will be announced in due course.

In 2015 we held the first ever national conference dedicated to the subject of men with eating disorders. It was attended by other 70 delegates from across the UK.

We had a great day, and benefited from hearing and learning more about male and transgender experiences – with illness, with treatment, with recovery, and with peer support – and about the particular roadblocks that are suffered by all those affected – and we also endeavoured to brainstorm some ideas for solutions.”

All in all a day of engagement, a variety of information and points of view to share, no shortage of courage in the room, a great lunch (always important!), and an opportunity to meet and talk with those with a particular interest in some under-represented groups in the more general discourse of eating disorders.”

It’s the best conference I have ever been to. I’ve cried, I’ve been filled with sheer emotion from the whole day, it’s been amazing. I will never forget and want to come again. I will raise publicity for this charity it’s so important.”

Bookings are now open and we are offering an a super early bird rate for a limited time only until the 2nd July.
