Places are available for MGEDT National Conference

Limited places are available for our second national conference taking place on 17th November at the Brighthelm in our home city of Brighton.

Our theme for the conference this year is ‘Exploring Body Dissatisfaction in Men and Improving Their Self-esteem.’

Speakers include an introduction by Debbie Roche (Chairperson) & founder of No To Eating Disorders, Natasha Devon MBE (Co-Founder of the Self-Esteem Team) as keynote, Dr Rob Willson (Therapist & Chair of the Body Dysmorphic Foundation), Danny Bowman (Mental Health Campaigner for Parliament Street & Founder of Bowman Foundation),James Downs (Eating Disorder & Mental Health Advocate), Troy Roness (US Eating Disorders Advocate), Scott Griffiths, (body and muscle dysmorphia  researcher from Australia) Jenny Langley (Author of Boys Get Anorexia Too & Trainer for the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust), Maggie Morgan and Chris Podszus (Director of Communications & Stakeholder Engagement & Policy, Public Affairs and Research Officer at Fixers on Wellcome Trust funded ‘Feel Happy Fix) and Sam and Lynn Crilly (Author of Hope With Eating Disorders) introducing new schools film.Hosted by our lovely Dave Chawner (Ambassador).

Workshops so far include yoga and recovery by James Downs, Self-esteem and recovery by As You Are Centre and exercise and benefits of sport in recovery by Norwegian Sports of Sciences.

In 2015 we held the first ever national conference dedicated to the subject of men with eating disorders. It was attended by other 70 delegates from across the UK.
