Eating Disorders Awareness Week 2017

MGEDT  is asking our supporters to do just one thing to raise awareness of eating disorders in men with an aim to tackle the gender assumptions that still exist…

Eating Disorders Awareness Week takes place from Monday 27th February to 5th March.As a supporter you will be aware eating disorders are typically perceived to be illnesses that are suffered by only females. Together, we can shatter the stigma surrounding to eating disorders and alleviate the barriers male sufferers face.

If you have…

1 minute: Tweet your support for @mgedt usng the official hashtag #EDAW2017
2 minutes: Like us on Facebook and share the page with your friends.
5 minutes: Read one of our personal stories  on the website and share on your social networks.
10 minutes: Write to your local paper to raise awareness of eating disorders in men.
20 minutes: Write to your MP to raise awareness of eating disorders in men and the need for better services.
30 minutes: Distribute our new awareness poster and resources in your school, college, uni or workplace OR watch our documentary ‘Millstone’ and share on your social networks.
1 hour+: Fundraise with an activity, event, or challenge of your choice through Just Giving.

Some fundriaing ideas include a cake sale:  non uniform day (or fancy dress); grow a mustache; quiz at your local pub; five or seven aside football match as just a few examples. You can donate and set up fundraising pages on Just Giving.
