Here are some quotes from key public figures in support of our campaign:

Caroline Lucas, MP for Brighton Pavillion and Leader of the Green Party: “Male sufferers of eating disorders should be able to access appropriate help and support without any obstacles. However, it’s time we woke up to the fact that often this is not the case and that service provision is hugely lacking. I hope the Government will now start to do more to help meet the needs of men.”

Catherine Bearder, MEP for the South-east, Liberal Democrat Party: “With the ever increasing level of male sufferers in the UK, the work of
MGEDT is crucial in campaigning for the necessary improvements of services
available to men. Male sufferers are often undiagnosed and raising awareness is vital to ensure that the stigma surrounding male diagnosis is eliminated. I am proud of the work that MGEDT are doing to raise awareness and improve services, not just in the South East but all over the UK”.

Keith Taylor, MEP for the South-east, Green Party: “I am really encouraged by the work done by Sam Thomas and his team at Men Get Eating Disorders Too. It is vital that men suffering from eating disorders get the support that they need, and part of this support is awareness and acceptance of the diseases in the eyes of the public, as well as physical treatment. Breaking down misconceptions is crucial, and
this charity has an important part in that role. I wish them well.”

Mike Weatherley, MP for Hove and Portslade, Consverative Party: “It is a positive sign that steps are being taken to reduce the stigma and improve the treatment of such a serious condition. After all, it is quite clear that male sufferers of eating disorders have been overlooked in the past. I congratulate Men Get Eating Disorders Too for their campaign and wish them every success in continuing to provide a worthwhile source of knowledge and advice for men.”
