This week Men Get Eating Disorders Too charity launches our Christmas Appeal 2013. We know how Christmas can be a difficult time for sufferers, their carers and families. Together, we can help to ensure that in 2014 that those affected by male eating disorders are better supported and improved chances of recovery.
Our appeal features the stories of male sufferers and carers who tell us about how MGEDT has been a source of help and support. Throughout December we’ll be posting blogs on how they have benefited from our work.
Sam Thomas, MGEDT Founder and Director, said: “Christmas puts a lot of demands on people at this time of year but we hope you can help make a difference by fundraising and donating to MGEDT. Throughout the festive season we will be available over email to support those who need it.”
Neil Holmes, MGEDT Chairman, added: “Following the accomplishments of the 2013, we’re hoping to make a even bigger difference in the year ahead. As a charity we want to establish peer support services both online and face to face nationwide so we can meet the needs of those affected by male eating disorders.
“Our informational provision as well as campaigning efforts and training to professionals proves to be an ongoing success, which we plan to continue and build upon in the year ahead.”
